7th ANNUAL H.O.T.S. CONFERENCE 2007 (Hands on the Sun) Oct 4th – 6th

The H.O.T.S (Hands On The Sun) program consists of a trip to Mt. Wilson for a tour and night time viewing, a Symposium, Beginners and Advanced Imaging Classes, Hands-on Training Workshops with Coronado telescopes, Fiesta Under the Stars with Meade Telescopes, Door-Prizes, a Tour of the Meade/Coronado Facility and a Day of Public Outreach.

Expert Speakers include: MIKE SIMMONS, GARY PALMER, STEPHEN J. EDBERG, PAUL HYNDMAN, BILL RICH, AND Meade’s SCOTT ROBERTS, and will run until 5:00pm in Room B209. Topics will include: SOLAR/CELESTIAL IMAGING, PROCESSING, TECHNIQUES AND TRAINING. This program includes night time viewing, a Symposium, Beginners and Advanced Imaging Classes, Hands-on Training Workshops with Coronado telescopes, Fiesta Under the Stars with Meade Telescopes, Door-Prizes, a Tour of the Meade/Coronado Facility and a Day of Public Outreach.

The Irvine Valley College portion begins on Friday, Oct 5th, with breakfast from 8:30am to 9:30am. Following breakfast, the KEYNOTE SPEAKER Dr. TONY PHILLIPS of Spaceweather.com will begin his lecture at 9:30am.

Meade would love the OCA to be a part of this by having a presence at H.O.T.S on Fri. and Sat. We can bring our own Solar scopes, help Meade with theirs (this is not required) or just have booth set up there with our brochures and club business cards. If we have a presence we can attend the lectures without any problems.
