What a shame that a BSC star party night was totally clouded over.

But we did have Karen Spargo & Jim Melvin come out along with Alfonso Cervantes and his wife & baby and also Jim Melvin. They are all very interested in astronomy and Alfonso even has a new 8″ Celestron he is dying to learn how to use.

We spent some time talking astronomy while waiting for it to get dark and hoping the clouds might clear. I showed them how a Go-To scope, like my Meade ETX125, is put  through the alignment process.

But the sky didn’t clear so everyone left about 8 PM. We will try again next month.
