We only had 15 cars come out as the dark sky clock said it would be bad seeing. But we had good visibility… up to about 9:30.

We had a nice warm clear evening last Saturday where 20+ cars came out plus many visitors who parked on Blackstar Canyon Road. Jupiter was spectacular but Neptune was elusive.

It was overcast last Saturday evening and the only thing I could see at 7:30 PM was the sun setting and then it too was hidden by clouds.

Special Board Meeting 6/14/09

There will be a special meeting of the OCA Board this Sunday, 6/14/09. This is at the usual time, 5:30, with the pre-meeting potluck at 5:00, and will be at the Lockheed Martin facility in Irvine. 05/16/09 BSC star party recap

We had 56+ people at the star party Saturday evening including 10 Nature Conservancy guests and 10 guests from the Santiago Canyon Astronomy course Hassi teaches. It was a mild evening and everyone seemed to have a great time.
