Saturn should be spectacular and Mars is still great to observe if the sky is clear. Come on out to the local OCA star party if the weather clears up.
Thanks to everyone involved, the Water is now back on at Anza
This is a bit long, but is a necessary recap/update on the situation at Anza. The good news is, the Pump is expected to be repaired this week.
If it doesn’t rain and we have clear skies then come on out to Black Star Canyon and look for Mars next to the Behive Cluster (M44).
The election results are in – congratulations to our new President and our new Vice President, and welcome to our new Trustee!
For the complete contact information on the new board, please see the club “contacts” page on the website.

As always, all members are welcome, but please notify Bob Buchheim, Craig Bobchin or Barbara Toy if you plan to attend. This is due to security concerns of our generous host for the meeting, Lockheed Martin.
Tonight’s Astrophyics Group meeting will feature three video lectures, starting with a lecture by UC Berkeley’s Alex Filippenko called “The Age of the Universe,” then “Cosmic Geometry Triangle in the Sky ” in Mark Whittle’s “Cosmology: The History and Nature of Our Universe” series. Time permitting, we will end with “Tying up the Tachyon Monster with Spinning Strings” by James Gates as part of his series on string theory – with time for discussions and visiting as well. We hope to see you there!

We only had a dozen people show up on this cloudy evening but everyone had a good time.
