We’re having an informal remembrance event for John Sanford before the general meeting on 1/13/12, starting at 7:00 p.m. John specifically didn’t want a formal memorial service of any kind, but liked the idea of his friends at OCA getting together and sharing some memories of good times in his honor. John was important to the club and to many of us in the club – I hope those of you who knew him (or who want to know more about him) will come.
The plan is to have several different members share stories or particular memories of John – if you have a story you’d like to share, please contact Barbara Toy (btoy@cox.net). If you don’t want to actually speak at the event or can’t be there in person, please send me your comments or story and we can read it to the group or put it in a memorial issue of the Sirius Astronomer.
Thank you and I look forward to seeing you all on 1/13.
Looks like we will have a dark clear evening without rain for this Saturday’s star party…hope many members can attend.
If it doesn’t rain or cloud up, we will hold a nearby star party at BSC this Saturday.
