10/10/09 BSC star party RECAP

Posted On October 11, 2009

I opened the gate at 5:45 pm & David set up his big 13″ Celestron, Val brought out his huge 5″ refractor and Hassi set up a smaller refractor and everone was viewing Jupiter as the sun set. The belts were clear and the moons were bright. Then Arcturus became visible in the west and Vega up high and even Antares in Scorpio. Then we could see the Summer Triangle but by then most of the remaining sky was clouded over. By 7:30, the entire sky was darkened by clouds so we called it a night and I locked the gate about 8:30.
