Beginners Astronomy Class – Intro to Astrophotography

Posted On January 27, 2006

The February 3 class is the final session of the current 6-session cycle of our club’s regular Beginners’ Astronomy Class, and will feature an overview of astrophotography and the basics of the equipment and techniques for beginners.  Our guest speaker for this presentation is one of the club’s active astroimagers, Kyle Coker.  There will also be an open forum for people to ask any question they may have on any astronomical topic.

The Beginners’ Class meets on the first Friday of every month, and the classes are free and open to the public.  The classes are in six month cycles, but they don’t have to be taken in any particular order.  The class is set at 7:30 p.m., in the classroom behind the Centennial Heritage Museum, located at 3101 W. Harvard Street in Santa Ana, about a half block West of Fairview Ave.  Harvard is the signal between Edinger and Warner. If you come to the Santa Ana/Costa Mesa area on the 405, take Fairview north, and turn left on Harvard, then look for the museum on your right.  The driveway is at the far side of the property (that is, the west side); come in through the gate and follow the driveway to the back of the property.
