Additional Information M43 (the "inverted comma" in the image), is actually part of M42, the Orion Nebula. Dark dust clouds between it and M42 cause it to appear as a separate nebula. Long exposures such as this show that the two are actually part of the same complex of nebulosity. Cropped from a larger image by Mark Park; the complete image is available here.
