08/15/09 BSC star party RECAP

I opened the gate about 7:20 and we had a number of cars waiting. The west was too overcast to see Mercury as the sun set but by 8:30 the night sky was pretty clear. We could see Scorpius and Sagitarius clearly to the west and Jupiter to the East…all 4 moons were visible as were the belts as Jupiter got higher. The Summer Triangle was up high and very nice…so we looked at Alberio and the double-double. By 9:30 we were pretty clouded over and most everyone left by 10 pm. I closed the gate at 10:40 and it was still a warm 65 F, the same temp as when I opened the gate.
