AstroImagers SIG - CANCELLED
Unfortunately, because we don’t have access to the facility where the meeting is scheduled, we have had to cancel the AstroImage SIG meeting for July.

Monthly meeting of the AstroImagers group in the Digital Media Center, 1300 S. Bristol Ave., Santa Ana, CA 92704.

The meeting begins at 7pm and will be in the "Multipurpose Room," which is located on the first floor, south end of the building. Enter the main lobby, turn left to go down the hallway, and we are in the second room on the left. There is a small sign on the wall next to the door that says "Multipurpose Room." There is plenty of free parking.

This very active group includes all levels of imagers, from beginners through experts in CCD, video and film astrophotography. All OCA Members are welcome, at whatever level they may be or the nature of their interest in this topic.

Explore the Stars
Explore the Stars in the Observatory campground on Palomar Mountain.

This is a 2-night public outreach event. Friday night is more informal, generally with fewer viewers and no formal program (it tends to be more of a star party for those volunteers who show up that night). Saturday night is much busier, and starts with a pot-luck for the volunteers, followed by a talk at around dusk, and then public viewing through the volunteers’ telescopes after that. For more information or to volunteer, please contact Bob Nanz at bob@nanzscience.com, or you can visit his website for more information: http://nanzscience.com/explore/index.html.

Private meeting-Astropysics SIG
Our Astrophysics group meets to discuss and learn about how the universe works as a seminar group that bases its discussions on topics of interest introduced by the participants and the videos that are shown during the meetings on different aspects of astrophysics. The meetings are held in the classroom at the Heritage Museum of Orange County, located at 3101 W. Harvard Ave., Santa Ana. The museum is located about a half-block west of Fairview; Harvard is about two miles north of the 405 Fwy, between Warner and Edinger. The driveway is at the western end of the museum property; follow it around to the back of the property to the parking area; the classroom faces the parking area. All members are welcome - come join us for a stimulating evening!
